For whom

This meetup is for decision-makers who already work with Dynamics or might do so in the future, from all over Belgium. It is especially relevant if you are a: CIO, IT Manager, ERP Manager, or Hiring Manager in IT and business.

The topics

Session 1 – The DNA of agility: Why technology alone does not create digital transformation. Why do digital transformation projects sometimes stall, despite good technology and experienced partners? Paul Demarbaix has been active in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem for more than 25 years. He shares the biggest pitfalls from practice and shows how technology and organisation together form the DNA of agility.

Session 2 – The implementation triangle. Wim Slaets zooms in on the role of an external consultant and the value they bring during an ERP or CRM project. He also looks at the communication triangle between the end customer, the external consultant and the implementation partner. Who takes which responsibility? How do you avoid ambiguity, and get all parties working towards the same goal?

Some of the things you’ll learn

  • Don't just digitise what you already do today.
  • A successful implementation is far more than an IT project.
  • Use the Microsoft stack for what it was designed for.
  • Clear communication and responsibilities between customer, consultant and implementation partner prevent misunderstandings.
  • Successful projects need more than good technology: clear collaboration, concrete agreements and a shared goal.
  • An external consultant brings independent expertise and structure to an ERP or CRM project.

The speakers

Paul Demarbaix – MS Dynamics 365 Business Analyst

Paul has been active in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem for more than 25 years and has seen many ERP and digital transformation projects up close. His expertise sits where business and technology meet. Besides Dynamics 365, he focuses on processes, architecture, integrations, data and the people who work with them. His conviction: technology is rarely the hardest part. How organisations make decisions, take ownership and handle change shapes the result.

Wim Slaets – MS Dynamics 365 Solution Architect

Wim is a senior ERP business consultant and freelancer who knows that an ERP implementation stands or falls with a real understanding of processes and operations. Before moving into ERP more than 20 years ago, he was a middle manager in supply chain and logistics, so he speaks the language of the shop floor, the business and IT. Since 2020 he has guided end customers through complex ERP transitions as an independent, hands-on consultant. He is an all-round specialist in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
